Our headquarters is located in Herndon, Virginia, with labs in Herndon and Plano, Texas. The operations center, which houses our 24/7/365 customer support team along with our assembly and production facility, is located in The Colony, Texas.
Oceus has a rich heritage that dates back to 1994, when Ericsson acquired Marconi Federal, and we became Ericsson Federal, Inc. In January 2011, we were successfully acquired from Ericsson to become a stand-alone, U.S.-owned corporation – Oceus, Inc. We chose the name Oceus – a variation of the Latin word for speed – since speed describes both the way we deploy networks and have improved voice, video, and data communications in the U.S. government. Today, Oceus is known as an innovative market leader in mobility solutions.
What differentiates us is our team’s unique combination of deep cellular expertise along with military and first-responder mission knowledge. Collectively, our team has more than 200 years of experience in cellular development, integration, and services – designing, building, and integrating secure commercial telecommunications equipment for a variety of applications. Many of our people are former U.S. military who know first-hand the unique communication and data challenges in a wide range of combat, remote location, and emergency response situations.
The technology we use also sets us apart. Our solutions are built on standards-based commercial 5G/4G LTE technology, supplemented with Oceus intellectual property. Leveraging new and innovative technology enables us to provide significantly increased functionality and connectivity.
